A Stitcher, A Hooker and now a Tatter

Since the age of five, I've been a knitter. I learned how to crochet too, but never really got into it. Last winter I retaught myself how to crochet and made myself a nice green hat. This winter, I brought down materials to teach myself how to tatt. No, not the ink on skin kind, but the lace-making kind.

Although I watched a few videos on tatting, I asked my friend Christine to give me a lesson. She came over and we enjoyed some delicious red wine (Diablo) from the store and she taught me to tatt. It took me two hours to make this little green flower, which is about as big as my index fingertip. Part of that may have been the wine. But I'm not 100 percent sold on the craft yet.
